About Bridget Willard

SaaS Marketing Strategist

I help B2B SaaS companies explain why their products matter—and build the relationships that turn understanding into sales.

She’ll tell you what she thinks is best regardless if it is what you think you want to hear, she’ll challenge you to think broadly about your vision and goals with social, and she’ll curate storytelling into each component of your content strategy.” Michelle Keefer, MA MBA

I Learn Your Product Before I Market It

I can’t market a product I don’t understand.

So I start by learning yours. I use it. I ask questions. I learn how your customers talk about their problems, what your sales team hears, what competitors are saying, and what’s happening in your category.

Then I look for the gaps between what your company knows about its product and what customers actually understand.

That’s where the marketing work starts.

“What Makes You Different, Bridget?”

I didn’t take a traditional path into marketing. I started my business in the fall of 2017 out of necessity, but if I’m honest, everything I did before that prepared me for this work.

I’ve worked in construction offices, taught math, helped run a chicken hatchery, built communities, spoken at conferences, and spent years working with software companies and the people who build them.

Those experiences taught me to pay attention to people, ask questions, look for patterns, and translate what one person knows into something another person can understand.

I’m endlessly curious. I read nonfiction, watch documentaries, notice how people use language, and routinely disappear down research rabbit holes because somebody said something that made me wonder, “But why?”

That curiosity is a big part of how I approach marketing. Every conversation—with a client, customer, founder, developer, salesperson, or stranger on X—gives me another piece of information about how people think and what makes them care.

I don’t just want to know what your product does. I want to understand why someone should give a damn.

Bridget Willard’s Street Cred

TL;DR: I’ve been doing this a while.

I’ve spent more than a decade working in and around the WordPress and SaaS communities—as a marketer, strategist, writer, author, teacher, speaker, and community builder.

My work has included product marketing, content strategy, social media, customer education, launches, messaging, and translating technical products into language customers understand.

I’ve written books, taught workshops, spoken at conferences, appeared on podcasts, and worked directly with founders and marketing teams.
