Because Basic Sites Bring Business
Most small businesses need a basic 5-page website, as we call it in the industry. Meaning, you’re not doing eCommerce, there isn’t a whole lot of functionality required other than it works, delivers quickly on mobile, and has a contact form.
As a marketing consultant, I have different relationships with clients’ websites. Sometimes, I’m rewriting them. Sometimes, I defer to them as the source of truth while managing their social. Sometimes, I build them. Why? You need a website.
You needed a website as a small business in 1995. You needed one in 2005. You needed on in 2015. You still need a website in 2025.
It doesn’t matter if you’re a handyman in Door County, WI with a population of 26,000 people or a Commercial General Contractor in Santa Ana, CA.
If you’re marketing yourself, people will look you up. If you don’t have a website, they’ll think one of two things:
a) you’re out of business
b) you can’t afford to be in business.
How Much Do Small Business WordPress Websites Cost?
A basic website built in WordPress will set you back anywhere from $500 to $25,000. The higher number usually includes a rebranding package or extra functionality like eCommerce or a Learning Management System.
